Berawa Beach is a popular spot for surfers and in the early hours of the day, you will find plenty of people walking their dogs and watching the surfboards get set up for the day.

Batu Bolong Beach

Batu Bolong Beach is the most popular beach in Canggu, even more so than Berawa Beach. That’s probably because the main road to the beach is a shopper’s paradise.

If you want shops, bars, restaurants, and cafes, galore then the walk down to this beach is going to keep you very happy, indeed.

Echo Beach

Pererenan Beach

We’ve noticed that they’ve not quite got the mix right, yet, as the high turnover of local tourism businesses shows.

Tanah Lot Temple

The most famous temple near Canggu is Tanah Lot and it sits on a rock formation island just off the coast. It’s just 20 minutes’ drive from Canggu proper.

It’s best seen at sunset to get the amazing light show above the ocean and the temple, but be warned, you might want to go in the wet season as it gets super popular in the dry season.

La Brisa Sunday Market

If you’re in the mood for trying some of the products made by local farmers then you might stop in at this pleasant market.

Take A Surf Lesson

This recently introduced attraction to Canggu is the classic Bali Swing on steroids. They launch you right up into the air before you swing about 50 meters above the ground!

What Is Canggu, Bali Best Known For?

Canggu is best known for the Canggu Beach strip which consists of many different beaches as well as the three villages in Canggu, Bali which sit among the rice paddies that the island is famous for.

However, in recent years, in Bali, Canggu has become one of the most popular destinations on the island and there’s been a lot of development going on in town.

This is good news because it means there are a lot of fun activities in the area but it does mean that traffic has become a minor problem and driving to Echo Beach, for example, can take much longer than the distance implies.

Is There Much To Do In Canggu?

Yes! If you take a look at our list above there are plenty of things to do in Canggu. In fact, you could probably spend your whole holiday in Bali in Canggu and never get bored. Particularly, if you’re staying in a nice villa with a private pool or at the FINNS Bali Resort.

However, Canggu is also well-situated for exploring the rest of the island and it’s easy to take a day trip to Ubud, Seminyak, Kuta, Legian, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Uluwatu, etc. too.

That means you can use Canggu as a base to explore Bali and ensure you stay in comfort throughout your time here.

If we only had one day in Canggu, we’d go to FINNS Beach Club, the world’s best beach club. There’s nothing quite like using their swim-up bars in the infinity pool facing the Indian Ocean to really feel special.

The sunset at FINNS Beach Club is truly spectacular and once the sun goes down, the party gets started and their party restaurants are wonderful dining experiences.

Of course, you might want to fit in a surf lesson or a short walk in the rice paddies around that or even grab a spa treatment before you hit the beach club, but we’d make FINNS the focus of a single day in Canggu every time.

How Many Days Should You Spend In Canggu, Bali?

We’d recommend that you spend, at least, 3 days in Canggu, Bali though you could spend much longer if you wanted to without getting bored.
