The Ultimate Honeymoon In Canggu Guide 2025

Canggu is Bali’s most popular and hip destination. It’s not all that long ago when this was a fairly unknown corner of Bali that appealed to serious surfers and those looking for total escape from the rest of the world.

Now, it’s a great place for digital nomads, serious surfers, regular tourists and even for a romantic honeymoon by the Indian Ocean.

You’ll find the area has plenty of luxury resorts, beach clubs, black sand beaches, boutique stores and much more! Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet honeymoon by a private pool or for partying with your loved one at the world’s best beach club, you’ll find it in Canggu.

A Quick Intro To Canggu

Canggu is a fairly big area but most people will elect to stay in the Berawa Beach area or the Batu Bolong Beach area or the Echo Beach area.

These are black sand beaches (there is no white sand beach in Canggu) and are considered to be some of the best surfing spots in Bali.

They’re particularly good for people who want to learn to surf as they’re very beginner friendly but there’s still plenty of challenge for intermediate and advanced surfers too.

We tend to recommend Berawa Beach for those just starting out in the area as while it still has access to beach clubs, fine dining restaurants, bars, boutiques, etc. it’s a little quieter than Batu Bolong and easier to get around.

And given that they’re not far from each other, you can easily visit Batu Bolong, Echo Beach and even the slightly more remote areas of Pererenan Beach and Nelayan Beach.

FAQs

Which Part Of Bali Is Best For A Honeymoon?

It very much depends on your idea of the ideal honeymoon destination. Canggu has a little bit of everything that this tropical island has to offer and there’s nothing quite like its intoxicating combination of beach clubs, fine dining, luxury hotels, and beautiful beaches.

However, if you want to watch dolphins then you’ll need to head to Lovina in North Bali.

If you want to get away from the crowds and still be by the beach, you might opt for Nusa Penida Island.

You could also choose Nusa Dua for its plush luxury resorts and white sands or Ubud for its lush gardens, jungles and temples.

There are so many romantic places in Bali that we’re certain you’ll have a great time here and get some incredible honeymoon photos too.

How Much Is The Average Honeymoon In Bali?

How much is the average honeymoon in Bali? Industry data, suggests that people spend around $1-$2,000 USD (that’s $1,500-$3,000 AUD ) per person while on holiday in Bali.

The figure covers food, drink, transport, accommodation, excursions and other expenses while you’re in Bali but does not include flights or visa costs as most people arrange these before they come to Bali and, in the case of flights, they can vary dramatically depending on where you are coming from.

Bali offers amazing value for money and you can still rent a private villa with a private pool with this kind of budget for a few days.

However, don’t forget that an average is a guideline. You can spend as much or as little on your honeymoon here as you desire.

What To Do In Canggu As A Couple?

There are many great things to do in Canggu as a couple. We’d suggest a day at FINNS Beach Club to enjoy the world’s best beach club as it should be enjoyed.

Then, some romantic dining at the best restaurants in the area such as Santanera and Lulu Bistrot and also making sure to enjoy some Indonesian dishes at the local warungs too.

You can take a stroll along the beaches hand in hand or enjoy some surfing together (we would note that while lovely, Canggu’s beaches are not the best for swimming, it’s better to stick to the infinity pool at FINNS for that).

You could also visit Tanah Lot temple which is only a short drive (hire a private driver to do this in style) away. Married couples are not susceptible to the Bali curse associated with this temple.

There’s also the option to shop until you drop in the local boutique sotrs, to learn horseback riding, participate in the local dance and art scene and much more.

How Many Days Is Enough In Canggu, Bali?

It depends on what you want from Canggu. If you just want to hit FINNS Beach Club and tick off a couple of other areas before moving on to East Bali, Central Bali or North Bali from South Bali, then you can probably see the highlights of Canggu in two or three days.

However, we’d base ourselves in Canggu and enjoy the occasional day trip to other parts of the island. Canggu has the best facilities of any area in Bali and it’s not hard to get somewhere like Uluwatu Temple or Ubud Palace, particularly if you engage the services of a private driver.

Final Thoughts From Our Canggu Honeymoon Guide

There’s so much to see and do in Canggu that you can have a great honeymoon here.

Whether you want a quiet romantic dinner in a fine dining restaurant or to chill out in a private villa with a private pool o to party all night long at FINNS Beach Club, this area is an ideal honeymoon destination.

It’s also easy to take a day trip to other parts of the island when you’ve exhausted all that your resort offers and you’re in the mood for a change of pace from Canggu.
