Safety Tips For Nights Out In Canggu
Canggu is a very safe area but there are a few things to know about the Canggu nightlife scene that can help you stay safe:
- It’s 21 and over – well, in truth, it’s extremely rare for anyone in Bali to actually ask for ID but if you are, if you can’t prove you’re over 21, you won’t be allowed in. It’s the legal drinking age.
- Drinking and driving is foolish – it’s dangerous to you, it’s dangerous to others, you won’t be insured if you get into an accident and you could get into serious trouble with the law too. Use Grab or Gojek to get home safely and cheaply.
- Wear a helmet if you take a scooter – seriously, your hair will be OK and this will prevent you from being stopped and fined by the police as well as keeping your brains inside your head in the event of an accident.
- Take care of your things – most crime in Bali is petty crime of opportunity. Keep your bag close and other valuables away to discourage bag snatchers and pickpockets.
What Are The Big Party Areas In Canggu, Bali?
The beach districts of Berawa Beach, Batu Bolong Beach and Echo Beach are, by far, the big party destinations.
That means if you stay near the beach, you won’t have far to go to enjoy the Canggu nightlife.
However, it won’t be far fro anywhere else in Canggu by Grab or Gojek, either.
How Much Does Partying In Canggu Cost?
Bali may be a Hindu enclave but this is still a Muslim nation. That means while it’s cheaper to drink in Bali than it is in most Western countries, it’s not as cheap as in some other Southeast Asian countries.
A beer in a supermarket can be had for about $1.50 USD or $2 AUD depending on the size of the beer and brand. However, that very same beer could be $7 USD or $10 AUD if you’re in one of the swankiest clubs on the island.
Spirits are more expensive than beers and a cocktail willl usually be around $7-$10 USD ($10-$15 AUD). Many tourists will bring a bottle or two into Bali as it’s much cheaper to get alcohol at Duty-Free – though the legal limit on Duty-Free is one bottle per person over 21.
You will also need to budget for the cost of a ride-share to get to and from the venue of your choice but these are very cheap and won’t cost more than $2-$3 USD ($3-$5 AUD) for most of the area.
A good night out in Canggu is still going to cost much less than a good night out in London, Sydney or New York.
What’s The Most Unique Canggu Nightlife Experience?
FINNS Beach Club. There’s really nowhere quite like it anywhere else on Earth.
It’s the “world’s best beach club” and that’s not an empty title, it’s what the customers and reviewers say about the place.
The big difference between FINNS and other beach clubs and nightclubs is the emphasis on entertainment and value for money.
They want you to have such a good time that you want to be there and it’s the most popular venue on the island precisely because of that.
A wild night around the dance floor at FINNS is the absolute best of the Canggu nightlife.
FAQs
Does Canggu Have Good Nightlife?
Yes. In our opinion, Canggu has the best nightlife on the island of Bali. There are so many Canggu nightlife spots that you’re bound to find something you like from techno music on the beach to Monday night parties at Luigi’s Hot Pizza to hanging out with the fashionable crowd at FINNS Beach Club enjoying local and international DJs, there’s something for everyone in this area.
Heck, you can even run your own custom party in Morabito Art Villa if you want to.
Is It Better To Stay In Seminyak Or Canggu?
We’re a little biased but we think it’s better to stay in Canggu and then travel to Seminyak if you want to see that area.
That’s because Canggu has a more relaxed vibe than Seminyak and the areas around Berawa Beach, Batu Bolong Beach and Echo Beach are the most popular places on the island.
Which Area Has The Best Nightlife In Bali?
We think Canggu has the best mix of nightlife on the island. Ubud’s nightlife scene is nascent and not that varied. Seminyak’s is expensive and tends to attract those who want to “see and be seen”. Kuta has become a bargain basement nightlife district in recent years, though it does have the best live music scene.
What Is Canggu Known For?
Canggu is best known for surfing, rice fields, and FINNS Beach Club, which is the world’s best beach club.
An incredible 1 in 8 visitors to Bali visit FINNS. It’s so popular that we’re starting to wonder if you can really say you’ve been to Bali if you’ve never been to FINNS?
Is Canggu Good For Parties?
Yes! There are plenty of areas in Canggu with a distinctly party vibe and vibrant atmosphere. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t find peace and quiet when you want it – there are some decidedly chill parts of Canggu too.
Where To Find The Party Crowd On A Weekend In Canggu?
FINNS Beach Club is Bali’s best party destination. If there’s no crowd in FINNS on any day of the week, then the island is effectively empty.
The lively ambiance, lack of entrance fee, the fact that they accept walk ins, and reasonably affordable drinks as well as excellent entertainment just make a visit to FINNS a no-brainer.
