The Moonlight Rooftop Bar

This bar is part of a hotel that has recently changed its name (and we think its ownership too) and that means they’re not as busy as they once were.

Having said that, we love the location which provides a very nice view over Canggu and you can feast on everything from a hearty bowl at breakfast, to a long lunch of spicy tuna, to some locally sourced dinner treats.

We like how the food at The Moonlight Rooftop Bar is put together too, it’s very stylish and that means it looks amazing when you take snaps for Instagram.

Overall, while we wish this place were busier, like some of the more popular cafes in the area, it’s still a great place to go.

Milk & Madu

Milk & Madu is regularly considered to be one of the best cafes in Bali and we come for the drinks, especially the coffee, but we stay for their great food.

In addition to the excellent coffee, they’re great for healthy options made from local ingredients including excellent smoothie bowls for breakfast.

However, there’s never a bad time of day to visit this place and you’ll find that their lunch and dinner menus are full of tasty and exciting treats too.

Now that Cinta Cafe has closed down, there’s no doubt that this family-friendly dining spot has a strong appeal to all holidaymakers in Canggu.

Jade By Todd English

If you want a meal prepared by a celebrity chef, then Todd English is one of the biggest culinary names in Bali. He’s been cooking here for many years, now.

Jade is the latest restaurant to bear his name and the idea is to create a culinary tour of the Silk Road by combining authentic recipes with locally sourced products.

What results is some of the finest Asian fusion that you’ve ever encountered and Jade provides a taste sensation that you’ll never forget.

The other thing that you will probably never forget is the price tag. This is not a casual dining experience but rather a high-end establishment and the prices are commensurate with that.

Riviera Bistro

We love Indonesian food but there’s no doubt that one thing we love more is variety and the joy of Canggu, Bali is that there are so many restaurants in Berawa that you can have a food romance with almost every cuisine on Earth.

Riviera Bistro combines French and Mediterranean cuisine to elevate both styles to the next level.

We love their wine list and that they try to deliver a one of a kind experience which is heavily reliant on the fresh catch of the day.

Try the oysters, it’s not really a trip to Riviera Bistro until you have done. They’re amazing.

BAKED

BAKED has become a breakfast go-to spot for many of the people in our offices. It’s a little more expensive than some of the other best cafes in the area but the ingredients are first rate.

One thing that Bali really struggles for is good cheese and the cheese in the ham and cheese sandwiches at Baked is first rate.

They also offer plenty of other, less traditional, baked goods and snacks and much of it is, indeed, baked on the premises.

Once you’re through the door, the aroma of freshly baked bread will ensure you don’t want to go anywhere else.

Ruko Cafe

Ruko Cafe is our hot tip for a breakfast spot because by lunch time, it’s often so busy that it’s a struggle to get a spot. The food’s the same all day long, so why not skip the crowds?

We love the coffee at this laid back spot and it’s the perfect place for nursing a cup and enjoying their super tasty breakfast bun.

They’re preparing to move the business at the moment, but don’t worry they’re not going far – just to a bigger unit on the opposite side of the road.

Panama Kitchen & Pool

We can never work out why Panama Kitchen & Pool is so quiet during the day because they offer good food and decent service with a smile for reasonable prices by the beach.

They also have an onsite swimming pool that you can use for free if you decide to eat there, which seems a pretty decent deal to us.

It’s a very family friendly venue and there’s plenty of space for kids to run around and play once they’re done eating.
