FAQs

How Much Does A Manicure Cost In Bali?

You can get a basic manicure for as little as 100,000 IDR (that’s around $6 USD or $10 AUD) but you can also pay much more for both nicer facilities and more advanced services.

Gel polishing usually costs a little extra over and above the standard manicure and colours, extensions, etc. all cost more too.

Canggu salons are a little more expensive than those in more remote parts of the island, but you shouldn’t expect to pay a fortune for your nails, unless you want to go to the highest end salons and try their entire menu of treatments.

How Much Does A Mani-Pedi Cost In Bali?

A basic mani-pedi won’t cost much more than a manicure and in the more remote parts of Bali, you might even be able to get both for 100,000 IDR ($6 USD or $10 AUD).

However, in Canggu, we’d expect to pay, at least, 150,000 IDR ($10 USD or $15 AUD) in most salons and you can easily spend up to 1 million IDR ($60 USD or $100 AUD) if you go to the best salons and opt for the full package of treatments.

How Much Should You Spend On A Manicure?

It depends on your needs. If you only need a basic manicure and don’t care about the setting you have it in, choose the cheapest option you can find here – that’s around 100,000 IDR ($6 USD or $10 AUD).

Why pay more if you don’t have to? But if getting a manicure is a bit of a treat, why not upgrade the salon and the service? Compared to most Western countries, the nail salons in Bali even at the high-end are pretty cheap and don’t you deserve a little pampering?

How Much Should I Tip For A Manicure In Bali?

There is no need to tip anywhere in Bali except for a massage and this is true in nail salons too. There is no expectation that you will tip, either, so you won’t finish with someone’s outstretched hand waiting for you to fill it with money.

However, if you want to leave a tip, you’re welcome to do so. A tip of 50,000 IDR-100,000 IDR would be considered generous and appropriate in a nail salon. We should note that the minimum daily wage here is 100,000 IDR. So to receive that much as a tip is really good for the local staff.

Is It Safe To Get Your Nails Done In Bali?

Yes! The only real difference between having your nails done here in Indonesia and back home is in the products that they use.

Nail technicians in Canggu and Bali as a whole are fully trained and they won’t do any harm to your nails, hands or feet.

In fact, we’ve found they may even throw in a nice foot massage at the end of the session to make you feel good 🙂

Final Thoughts On The Best Manicure In Canggu

As you can see, there are many excellent places to get a manicure in Canggu and it’s a real treat to be able to have such quality work done so cheaply.

In fact, we’d recommend that you get your nails done as part of a larger pampering package. Do your hair, get a massage, upgrade your beauty routine, etc. after all, when can you afford to splash out like this at home?
