Factors To Consider When Choosing A Coworking Space In Canggu
Mostly, people will pick a coworking space because it’s got the right vibe for them but it can be worth narrowing down your initial choices based on the following factors:
- Is it targeted at the creative community? This can be great for artists and not so much for techies.
- Do they have fun events? Most coworking spaces run networking events but others also have yoga classes, a swimming pool, and regularly organized trips, etc.
- What facilities do they have? The best coworking spaces are more than just a hot desk and coffee. Do they have private offices, meeting rooms, a podcast studio, an onsite café or coffee shop, a film and photography studio, a conference room, a seminar room, a rooftop garden, focus rooms, an art studio, and air-conditioned meeting rooms?
FAQs
Is Coworking Space Expensive In Canggu?
If you compare the costs of coworking space in Canggu to the cost in the west, you will find that it’s actually very cost-effective.
You can get a day pass to try out a workspace for as little as 150,000 IDR (that’s around $10 USD or $15 AUD) to 300,000 IDR ($20 USD or $30 AUD) from most of the coworking spaces.
We’d strongly recommend that you do try out a space before you sign up for a membership as the ideal working environment differs a lot from person to person. Just because you have a friend that loved a place, it doesn’t mean that you will.
Then, a monthly membership which is usually the best value way to access a coworking space if you intend to use one every day – runs from around 1,200,000 IDR (that’s about $80 USD or $120 AUD) for a hot desk and if you want a dedicated desk it can cost up to 3,000,000 IDR (that’s around $200 USD or $300 AUD).
Your fee will normally include high-speed internet and some other services. Sadly, not many coworking spaces here in Bali offer delicious coffee as part of your membership and you will normally need to pay for your food and drinks on top.

If you’re seeking the ideal work-life balance then we’d say that using a coworking space in Canggu is an essential if you’re spending a lot of time in the area.
Sure, you can work from home but it’s not quite the same thing and it’s all too easy to blur the lines between work and private life.
Digital nomads often find that they need the facilities of a coworking space during the working day too. We doubt there are many remote workers that can set up a noise-isolated podcast studio or who have access to meeting rooms in their living space.
For many nomads, a free coworking space can be enough as they just need to pay for some delicious food and drink and use the internet.
But long-term digital nomads will almost always opt for a paid popular coworking space in Bali which provides the same kind of amenities as regular office space and a collaborative environment.
While the free coworking spaces can get a bit crowded, the main paid-for spaces are great coworking spaces that tend to be busy but not too busy.
